Here's an awesome tutorial showing you how to recreate the legendary track "Smack My Bitch Up" by The Prodigy in Ableton. Aside from showing each sample in it's original form and the process it takes to make it part of the track, this tutorial also gives great insight into mastering and eq'ing techniques.

Whether you use Ableton or not, this video is a must see.

the Human Slinky

The PVM Crew and myself went to see the "Most Interesting Show In The World" and they were definitely not under selling themselves. As you can see from the pictures and video below, this show was nothing short on visual entertainment, but the performance artist and musicians were also spot on.

From the knife juggling jew, to the human beatbox, there was something for everyone at this evening...

Got Sucked In

Been meaning to get back to this track I'm working on but I keep getting sucked into things. If you're running a website, this is very easy to do. What starts with a simple fix or update, results on various other items getting explored, new plugins being tried out and 5 hours later you're wondering what the hell happened.

Just a quick note to let folks know I've added another area for mixes from other DJs. I'm starting things out by adding mixes from Tony Foo Yong and will add more mixes from friends of mine or other people I feel make the cut.

Spent the last few weeks making a few more tracks and slowly but surely I feel like I'm getting a handful of good ones together to be able to use for a strong mix.

Here's a track I started Thursday night and by yesterday I already felt compelled to tweak the track a bit more and it nearly turned into a remix, redo, overhaul, whatever you want to call it.

Early Morning Ravers

Ok they're not technically ravers and I'm on the decks so you'll see here this aint no rave. It is however a snapshot from the tail end of one of the better parties I've been to in recent times.

You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this video

I know what you're going to say after the video and that's probably going to be something to the effect of "where's the party video"? lol - and I don't blame you but I only recorded this and after that most likely decided it was better not to carry any digital recording equipment on me that would prove as a reference for what really happened that evening.
