Akai APC40 Controller

If you’re like me, then you’re constantly breaking gear, I’ve stopped getting upset about it and simply started to adapt to whatever scenarios I’m presented with. Currently, my VCI-300 that I usually use in conjunction with Serato Itch has a broken fader, so I’ve been forced to borrow my roommate’s new controller, however it’s a Reloop Jockey 3 LE, is made for Traktor Pro and is a completely different animal than what I’m used to.

I just realized that I have a post up that says I’m down for repairs, but still I did a show last week so it’s time I update my overall status here from “down for repair” to “making it work with whatever gear I can get my hands on”.

This post is for all the DJ’s out there that use Mp3′s as part of their act and how you can make your life easier if you’re willing to take a slight dive into some unix scripting.

So here’s the deal. I build websites every day and I’m kinda like an electrician that has a broken light and refuses to fix it. For years I’ve been wanting to redo my website because I’ve gotten bored with it ages ago and I feel it doesn’t really provide the type of platform I want and need for the type of stuff I’m involved in.

Well, unfortunately I broke my VCI-300 at this year’s After Burn in Lakeland. I was having helluva time cuttin’ over and at some point the thing finally said “I’ve had it” and I’m left with a rather badly functioning device. What that means is that I won’t be able to do my show for a few weeks.
